Lusaka businessman, Sedrick Kasanda, has been in detention at Twin Palm Police Station since Monday for alleged aggravated robbery, according to documents filed in the Lusaka High Court.

Kasanda who had been on trial for Espionage in connection with the gold scam scandal was apprehended on February 26, 2024 by police officers from Force headquarters, where he appeared for questioning and taken to Twin Palm Police Station.

According to his application for habeas corpus filed on Friday by his lawyer, Kasanda stated that efforts by him to be brought before a competent jurisdiction had been fruitless.
