Tottenham slips to 2-1 loss against Aston Villa, as Man U thrash Everton 3-0 away

Tottenham on Sunday suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Aston Villa at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, dropping it to fith place in the league.

Giovani Lo Celso’s deflected shot in the 22nd minute gave Spurs an early lead, but Pau Torres equalized for Villa deep in first-half stoppage time on Sunday.

Ollie Watkins secured the winning goal just past the hour mark, propelling Villa into fourth place in the Premier League, ahead of Tottenham.

Despite opportunities, Tottenham couldn’t capitalize, with Villa’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez making crucial saves and Rodrigo Bentancur limping off with an injury in the first half.
