United for Better Zambia (UBZ) party president, Hector Soondo, has rallied Zambians to remain strong, united, and focused as the country draws closer to the 2026 general elections.

Soondo declared that the Tonse Alliance remained the only genuine hope for the Zambian people, warning against what he described as “political distractions meant to divide the nation.”

In a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday, Soondo stressed that the legacy of the late President Edgar Lungu continued hhhto inspire the Tonse movement.

“We urge all citizens to remain resilient and focused as we head into the 2026 elections. The Tonse Alliance stands firm as the beacon of hope for our people, and we will not allow opportunists to derail the will of Zambians,” Soondo said.

He stated that Tonse Alliance Chairperson, Given Lubinda, had been entrusted with carrying forward the vision and leading all alliance programmes.

“President Lungu’s spirit and vision for a united Zambia live on in President Lubinda, who has been tasked to take charge of our alliance and ensure that the dreams of millions of Zambians are fulfilled,” Soondo said.

He further appealed to the electorate to stand behind the Tonse Alliance, saying the coalition was built to defend the interests of ordinary Zambians and safeguard the future of the nation.

The UBZ Party leader took a swipe at the ruling administration, accusing it of failing to deliver on its promises and plunging citizens into economic hardship.

“Zambians are tired of empty speeches and unfulfilled promises. The people deserve leadership that delivers, not leadership that experiments with their lives. The Tonse Alliance is ready to restore dignity, jobs, and real development for our people,” Soondo said.
