Patriotic Front (PF) Acting President and Tonse Alliance Chairperson, Given Lubinda, has urged party members in Western Province to remain united as the opposition party prepares for its forthcoming convention.

Lubinda, accompanied by Tonse Alliance Council of Leaders member and Zambia Republican Party (ZRP) President, Wright Musoma, visited PF structures in Mitete, Lukulu, Luampa, Nkeyema, and Kaoma districts.

Addressing party officials, Lubinda emphasized discipline, focus, and collective effort to rebuild the PF as a strong opposition ahead of the 2026 general elections.

“This is the time for unity and loyalty to the party. As we head to the convention, our goal must be to emerge stronger and more organized. Let us prove that PF remains a people-centered party ready to serve Zambia again,” Lubinda said.

Musoma commended Lubinda for his leadership since taking over from former President Edgar Lungu in 2021, noting that guiding PF toward democratic convention elections demonstrated maturity and commitment to internal democracy.

“Mr. Lubinda deserves recognition for keeping PF intact during a very challenging period. He has shown humility and respect for democratic principles by ensuring that members have a chance to choose their leaders freely,” Musoma said.

Similarly, United for Better Zambia (UBZ) Party President, Hector Soondo, praised Lubinda for filing his nomination for the PF presidency, describing him as a proven leader capable of restoring the party’s unity and dignity.

“Given Lubinda has demonstrated unmatched consistency and integrity both in and outside government. With his vast experience and deep understanding of national governance, I believe he is the right person not only to lead the Patriotic Front but also to one day serve as President of the Republic of Zambia,” Soondo said.

He called on PF members and the public to support Lubinda, highlighting his commitment to dialogue, inclusion, and accountability.

The Tonse Alliance delegation reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation among alliance partners in pursuit of good governance, democracy, and national unity.

Lubinda’s visit is part of a nationwide engagement strategy as preparations intensify for the PF convention, which will determine the party’s future leadership.
