Italian Serie A side US Lecce have provided a positive health update on Zambian winger Lameck Banda after he collapsed during their league match against Napoli on Saturday.
Banda was treated on the pitch after collapsing with four minutes remaining in the Serie A encounter.
At the time, Lecce were trailing 2–1 but had just won a free kick in a promising attacking position, according to Talksport.
Before the set-piece could be taken, the Zambian international suddenly fell to the ground in concerning scenes at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Medical personnel immediately rushed onto the pitch to attend to the player.

After several minutes of treatment, Banda was transported off the field on a medical buggy before being placed in an ambulance and taken to hospital for further assessment.
An announcement was later made inside the stadium confirming that Banda was conscious and responsive, prompting a standing ovation from supporters.
Lecce have since confirmed that the 24-year-old has been discharged from hospital following medical tests.
In a statement, the club said: “Footballer Lameck Banda was discharged this morning from Cardarelli Hospital after a series of tests that yielded negative results.”
It remains unclear whether Banda will rejoin the squad for the remainder of the campaign.
Lecce are scheduled to return to Serie A action next Sunday with an away fixture against AS Roma before the international break.
