The presidential results from Dundumwezi Constituency of Southern Province have set social media ablaze, with Zambians turning to humour after the constituency delivered an overwhelming 22,043 votes for President Hakainde Hichilema against 46 votes for Tonse Alliance candidate, Brian Mundubile.
Within minutes of the figures circulating online, Facebook users flooded comment sections with jokes, memes and playful remarks about the constituency’s voting pattern.
Some users joked that Dundumwezi had become the country’s “most loyal” constituency, while others suggested it should be turned into a tourist attraction because of its voting record.
“They need to make Dundumwezi a tourist attraction,” one Facebook user wrote, while another said, “Someone take me to Dundumwezi. I really want to see the place and the people found there.”

Others humorously likened the constituency’s support for Hichilema to unwavering loyalty in relationships.
“I wish to have a girlfriend as loyal as Dundumwezi,” one user commented, while another added, “The most faithful partner in Zambia.”
Some questioned where the 46 votes cast for Mundubile had come from, with one joking that authorities should “find out who those 43 people are,” while another remarked that at least there were “43 people that voted.”
The jokes continued as another user quipped that airport construction should start from Dundumwezi, while another described the constituency as “a country on its own.”
Several commenters also recalled the excitement at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre when the constituency’s results were announced, claiming the venue erupted in cheers as soon as Dundumwezi was mentioned.
The light-hearted reactions quickly spread across social media, adding comic relief to an otherwise tense election period as Zambians continued to await the Electoral Commission of Zambia’s official national presidential results.
