Minister of Green Economy and Environment, Dr Gilbert Siame, has dissolved the Board of Directors of the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) with immediate effect.
Ministry Permanent Secretary Dr. Douty Chibamba said the decision was made pursuant to the powers vested in the Minister under Chapter 204 of the Laws of Zambia.
Chibamba announced the dissolution in a statement issued in Lusaka on Friday.
He said the move formed part of Government’s efforts to strengthen environmental governance and regulatory oversight and ensure that ZEMA is effectively positioned to support the implementation of the Grow Zambia Agenda.
