The Ministry of Agriculture has urged agro-dealers across the country to maintain adequate stocks of farming inputs to ensure farmers redeeming e-vouchers under the 2026/2027 Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) are served without delays.
Ministry of Agriculture Principal Public Relations Officer, Balewa Zyuulu, said sufficient stocks of agricultural inputs were critical to facilitating timely redemption as farmers prepare for the 2026/2027 farming season.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Zyuulu said the ministry was satisfied with the progress made under this year’s FISP, with 675,459 farmers having redeemed their inputs as of October 23, 2026.
“This represents 65.93 percent of the targeted 1,024,434 beneficiaries and is significantly ahead of the pace recorded during the same period last year,” he said.

He urged eligible farmers who were yet to redeem their inputs to do so through accredited agro-dealers in good time to enable them to prepare adequately for the farming season.
Zyuulu also encouraged farmers to pay attention to official weather forecasts and seasonal advisories and to seek guidance from agricultural extension officers on suitable crop varieties and other climate-smart agricultural practices.
“Such guidance was particularly important as the country prepares for the farming season amid the potential effects of El Niño, which could alter rainfall patterns and increase the risk of dry spells in some areas,” he said.
Zyuulu said timely access to quality farming inputs, coupled with sound agricultural practices, would be essential to achieving the objectives of the Grow Zambia Agenda, which seeks to increase agricultural production and productivity, strengthen national food security, expand agricultural exports and improve farmers’ livelihoods.
He further reminded farmers to protect their e-voucher redemption codes, avoid sharing them with unauthorised persons and obtain inputs only from accredited agro-dealers.
The ministry said it would continue monitoring the implementation of the Farmer Input Support Programme and provide agricultural guidance to support farmers throughout the 2026/2027 farming season.
