Baby recently found dumped at Church premises in Kasama dies

A baby that was recently dumped at a church in Kasama, Northern Province has died, a day after admission at Kasama General Hospital.

Northern Province Police Chief Gloria Mulele said on Friday that officers who were assigned to check on the security of the baby while at the hospital reported the death.

The unidentified baby was reportedly dumped in a 10 litre bucket at the entrance of the White Fathers Parish in Kasama on Tuesday.

Mulele said the infant died at Kasama General Hosppital where she was admitted on Thursday.

“Some police officers were assigned to check on the security of the baby while at the hospital and were informed by management at the hospital that the baby had died,” he said.

Police investigations in the matter have continued to bring to book the parents of the baby.
