The fourth edition of the Bo’jangles Taste The Jazz Festival is set to hold with a grand finale featuring some of Zambia’s leading jazz and contemporary musicians at Bo’jangles, KK Mall.
Held under the theme “Roots & Rhymes,” the festival has attracted hundreds of music lovers during a month-long celebration of Zambia’s musical heritage, with performances from established and emerging artists.
The festival, which has grown into one of Lusaka’s major cultural events, began in 2014 as a weekly live music night at Bo’jangles before evolving into an annual celebration of Zambian sounds.
This year’s edition has featured performances from artistes including the Zambian Brass Quintet, Maureen Lilanda and Band, MC Jackson, Nathan Nyirenda, Mumba Yachi and Mathews Tembo.
The final week of the festival will see Maureen Lilanda and Band perform, followed by the Zambian Brass Quintet, ahead of the closing show on July 26.

The Grand Finale will feature performances from Uncle Rex and Band, the Zambian Brass Quintet, Optimistiq featuring David Andish, Afro Red Band, and Mumba Yachi alongside Mathews Tembo.
Organisers said this year’s theme highlights the evolution of Zambian music, tracing its journey from traditional rhythms to modern musical expressions through live performances.
They said the festival’s continued growth demonstrated increasing appreciation for locally produced live music, despite jazz traditionally being viewed as a niche genre.
The organisers added that July has become associated with jazz and cultural expression at Bo’jangles, with the event attracting loyal audiences and music enthusiasts over the years.
