Copperbelt Minister, Elisha Matambo, has directed security agencies to curb the emerging trend of false claims of genital disappearance through witchcraft.
Speaking at a media briefing in Ndola on Wednesday, Matambo said security operatives should remain alert and ensure that those spreading such false news were brought to justice.
“Under President Hakainde Hichilema, the people of Copperbelt and our great country have enjoyed peace for the past four years, and we don’t want to go back to those dark days,” he said.
Matambo called on security forces to crack down on gangs, including drug users, across the province.

On the political front, he dismissed criticism of individuals joining the ruling party.
“Those peddling cheap propaganda are chasing the wind and will continue mobilising for our party. We urge those who are joining us to continue supporting the party,” he said.
He appealed to Copperbelt residents not to make new party members uncomfortable. “President Hichilema always emphasizes that there are millions of rooms to accommodate every Zambian, and they are all welcome,” Matambo said.
