This is according to a letter addressed to management accessed by Zambia Monitor on Friday.

The letter stated that the three unions had unanimously resolved to down tools on account of the recent award of K550 across board for all categories of staff.

“We will also down tools in protest of management’s failures to avail the union executives what was submitted to the emoluments commission as response to the union’s demand considering CBU is public institution,” the letter reads .

They had maintained in the letter that the resolution would remain in effect until management gives a reasonable offer to the unions which reflected the prevailing economic conditions.
