Kabelela is alleged to have raped the victim on June 23, 2023.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence.

It was alleged that the night before the incident, Kabelela had entered the maid’s room and began to caress her.

She, however, did not welcome the accused’s behavior and bluntly told him to leave her room.

Seeing the negative response from her, Kabelela is said to have reportedly apologized stating that it was a mistake to have found himself in her room and then returned to his wife.

The next day, Kabelela after driving his wife to work, allegedly returned to rape the maid.

In another matter, Mirriam Banda, 28, a businesswoman of Chilenje township appeared before the Lusaka Magistrate Court for child stealing.

The offence is in breach of Section 171(1) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.

It was alleged that Banda, between August 5, 2021, and March 11, 2024, with intent to deprive the lawful parent who had lawful care of the minor, fraudulently took away the said child.

She is yet to take plea.
