Electoral Commission of Zambia cancels tender for printing of ballot papers

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ)has announced the cancellation of a tender for the printing of Ballot Papers.

The Commission on September 22, 2023 issued a tender for the printing and delivery of ballot papers, posters, blind voter templates and announcement forms.

ECZ Chief Electoral Officer, Brown Kasaro, said this was for a period of three years which closing date for submission of bids was Friday, November, 3, 2023.

Kasaro stated that the cancellation was due to significant changes in the bidding conditions and conditions of contract contained in the issued solicitation document.

“The Electoral Commission of Zambia however wishes to inform stakeholders and members of the public that the aforementioned tender has been cancelled,” he said.

Kasaro added that the cancellation was in line with the Public Procurement Act Number 8 of 2020 section 69 1(d).

“The Commission will keep stakeholders updated on the next steps regarding this issues,” he stated.
