Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman, may have passed away five years ago, but his legacy continues to shine as the late actor is set to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
According to Billboard, the ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 20.
Ryan Coogler, director of the record-breaking Black Panther film in which Boseman played the iconic lead role, will deliver remarks at the event.
Actress Viola Davis, who starred alongside Boseman in his final film, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, will also speak.
Face2Face Africa reports that Boseman’s widow, Simone Ledward-Boseman, will accept the honour on his behalf.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that Boseman will receive the 2,828th star on the Walk of Fame. The ceremony will take place at 6904 Hollywood Boulevard.
“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is deeply honored to celebrate Chadwick Boseman’s extraordinary legacy with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His powerful performances and enduring impact, both on and off screen, continue to inspire generations around the world,” said Ana Martinez, the Walk of Fame’s producer.
Boseman died on August 28, 2020, at age 43, following a private battle with colon cancer.
His illness had not been disclosed publicly before his passing.
Born in Anderson, South Carolina, Boseman began his creative career as a writer and director, working on projects such as Heaven and Blood Over a Broken Pawn. Reflecting on his influences, he once told The Hollywood Reporter, “Clair Huxtable is my acting mom.”
