Italy-based Chipolopolo forward, Lameck Banda, has returned to action after a one month injury lay off.

The exciting player came on as a second half substitute in Lecce’s 1-1 draw against Udinese in a Serie A match.

Remi Oudin made way for Banda who replaced the Frenchman on 67 minutes.

Banda had been sidelined since September, missing the international friendly matches against Uganda and Egypt in the process.

The forward took to his official Facebook handle expressing relief, prior to the match, that he was back from injury.

“In Good faith 🙏Back Again after with the Gents after a long time,” Banda posted.

The forward’s return to action would be music to Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant’s ears as Zambia kicks off FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a home encounter against Congo Brazzaville on November 13, 2023, with Niger next up a week later.

Chipolopolo will then turn their attentions to the Africa Cup of Nations to be played at beginning of next year.
