The National Assembly has ratified the Presidential appointment of Loveness Maambo Mayaka as Clerk of the National Assembly of Zambia.
The Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to scrutinize the appointment presented its report to the House, which then ratified her appointment.
National Assembly of Zambia Senior Media Liaison Officer, Nshamba Muzungu, confirmed the decision in a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday.

Mayaka is an experienced parliamentary professional with over 20 years of service, having joined the institution in 2005.
“Her appointment to this vital role, which serves as Chief Executive Officer and Procedural Adviser, is a testament to her exceptional knowledge, skill, and experience in parliamentary procedure,” Muzungu said.
“Prior to her ratification, Mrs. Mayaka served as Acting Clerk of the National Assembly from April 2025,” he said.
