Lusaka businessman to go on trial for allegedly scamming victim of K500,000

A 44-year-old businessman of Chamba Valley has appeared at the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court for allegedly obtaining money amounting to over K500,000 through false pretense by pretending he had land for sale.

Morgan Muzambalika was charged with three counts of obtaining money by false pretense contrary to Section 309 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.

Between August 1 and August 31, 2023, the accused with intent to defraud did obtain K110,000, K170,000 and K310,000 from Julie Kabamba by lying to her that he had land on sale.

Muzambalika denied the charges and the matter comes up on April 29 ,2024, for trial.
