The Ministry of Community Development and Social Services has warned the public against an online scam promising K800 Social Cash Transfers to all Zambians.

In a statement released in Lusaka on Thursday, Ministry Principal Public Relations Officer, Glenda Nachinga, described the scam— which claims individuals can instantly receive K800 Empowerment Funds by clicking on suspicious links and answering questions— as fraudulent.

“The Ministry does not conduct random prize draws or distribute cash through unsolicited links or messages,” Nachinga emphasized.

She advised the public to be cautious, avoid clicking on suspicious links, and not to provide personal information in response to such messages.

Nachinga urged anyone who receives these messages to report them to the nearest police station or contact the Ministry through official communication channels.

“The Ministry urges the public to verify any information regarding social cash transfers or empowerment programmes through official sources,” she said.

She assured that any legitimate programmes would be announced through recognized government channels and implemented through official processes.
