Police, in quick impact operation, arrest 50 for being idle, disorderly; 5 found with cannabis

Police in Lusaka have arrested 50 “junkies” including four females.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Danny Mwale, in a statement issued in Lusaka on Saturday said Police officers working together with members of the Community Crime Prevention Unit conducted a quick impact operation covering M’tendere East and Kalikiliki compounds.

Mwale said the operation started around 17:00 hours and ended at about 21:00 hours.

He said the suspects are aged between 16 and 50.

“Five were found with suspected cannabis and will be handed over to the Drug Enforcement Commission while the rest have been detained for Idle and Disorderly,” Mwale said.
