Power Dynamos, FC MUZA eliminated from CAF championship league

Zambia’s continental envoys, Power Dynamos and FC MUZA have both been eliminated from the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively.

Power only managed a draw away to Tanzania’s Simba SC, while FC MUZA suffered a two-nil defeat to Diables Noirs in Congo effectively ending the two teams’ stay in continental competition.

Simba are through to the group stage at the expense of Power owing to a superior goal aggregate.

The two sides played out to a thrilling 2-2 draw in the first leg .

Zambian Champions Power Dynamos were also eliminated from the CAF Champions League on away goal rule.

Despite holding Simba to a 1-1 draw, the Kitwe giants have exited the competition via a 3-3 aggregate.

Meanwhile FC MUZA suffered a 2-0 defeat to Diables Noirs in the second leg of the CAF Confederations Cup on Sunday in Congo.

Following the result in Brazzaville, MUZA are now out of the competition via a 4-1 aggregate.

The two clubs will now turn their attention to the Super League.
