Solwezi man, 32, nabbed for defiling minor

Police have confirmed the arrest of a 32-year-old man of Solwezi for defiling a 15-year-old juvenile.

Ben Kasaka, allegedly dragged the victim in the bush, tied her hands and defiled her before leaving her in the bush where she spent her night stranded.

North-Western Police Chief, Dennis Moola, said in a statement on Wednesday in Kitwe that Kasaka met the victim who was in the company of her friend, aged 14 .

The two were going back to school where they were weekly boarders when Kasaka reportedly scared them that he had seen serial killers and in the process the two juveniles got agitated and started running .

Unfortunately, the victim could not keep up the pace because she had a a bag of maize on her back.

“After the victim failed to run faster,the suspect dragged her into a nearby bush where he tied her hands and had carnal knowledge of her and sustained painful private parts and general body pains,” Moola stated.

He said the following day she again met the suspect and they began walking together.

It was at that moment they met her father and a group of people who were looking for her.

The suspect was apprehended and taken to the police and arrested for defilement and remains in custody.
