Tanzania Zambia Railways Authority to suspend passenger train till further notice

Tanzania Zambia Railways Authority(TAZARA ) has announced the suspension of operations of passenger train until further notice, citing operational challenges.

A statement from TAZARA seen by Zambia Monitor on Thursday stated that starting from June 18, 2034 the cross border passenger train operations from Kapiri Mposhi to Dar es Salaam would cease until further notice.

“TAZARA regrets to announce the suspension of passenger train operations with effect from June18, 2024 until further notice,” it stated.

This, according, to the statement was necessitated by various challenges the authority was facing.
