Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training institutions to resume January, 29


Government has revised the opening dates of all the Technical Education Vocational and Enterprenuership Training (TEVET) institutions from January 15, to January, 29, 2024.

The decision followed the surge in cholera cases in the country which stands at 5,462 cases with 222 deaths recorded countrywide as of Sunday 7, 2024.

The Ministry of Technology and Science made the announcement in a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday.

“The Ministry of Technology and Science has been following the recent unfortunate developments and announcements on the raising numbers of Cholera cases and deaths recorded in the country,” reads the statement.

On Sunday, Lusaka Province recorded the highest deaths with 26 people dying out of the 27 which the country recorded.

“The Ministry would therefore like to inform the general public and all TEVET Institutions of its decision to revise the opening dates of its institutions from January 15, 2024 to January 29, 2024,” the Ministry said.

It called on Zambians to stay safe, protect themselves and their loved ones by keeping their surroundings clean.
