Trump warns Venezuela to cooperate or face further military action

United States (U.S) President, Donald Trump, has warned that Washington could launch a second military operation in Venezuela if its interim government does not cooperate with U.S. demands, heightening tensions in the region.

Trump told NBC News that another strike was possible if Venezuela’s acting leaders fail to align with U.S. expectations following earlier military action.

The warning comes amid broader U.S. pressure after Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was captured during a U.S. military operation in early January.

Venezuela’s political situation remains highly volatile, with interim leaders contesting U.S. control and Russian forces reportedly escorting Venezuelan tankers in response to U.S. intervention.

Trump’s rhetoric, including controversial suggestions that the U.S. might consider military options in other geopolitical arenas, such as Greenland, has drawn sharp rebukes from NATO allies and European leaders.

They have insisted on defending territorial sovereignty and rejected any notion of military acquisition of Greenland, a semi-autonomous Danish territory.

The situation reflects growing global unease with U.S. assertiveness—particularly as Trump’s comments signal a readiness to use military force to achieve foreign policy goals.
