Yo Maps bags 5 awards at Kwacha Music Awards (see list of winners)

Zambian music sensation, Yo Maps, last night was the biggest winner at the Kwacha Music Awards bagging five prizes.

The singer, real name, Elton Mulenga, scooped awards in various categories that included Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Male Artiste, Best Conscious Song and Best Mainstream Pop song.

The Abel Chungu assisted smash hit ‘Try Again’ was responsible for ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Best Mainstream Pop’ and ‘Best Conscious Song’ awards.

Other notable winners on the night were Chef 187 who walked away with Best Rap/Hip-Hop album and Best R & B song for his record ‘Nobody’.

Pompi scooped Best Male Gospel Artiste while Towela Kaira won the Best Female Artiste of the Year.

Rapper Sampa the Great won Best International Artiste while last year’s big winner Chile One Mr Zambia scooped the Best Artiste Copperbelt Province.

Copperbelt rappers Chanda na Kay won Best Duo while Jaggery Chanda of the WITCH fame was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
