The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has given lawyer Makebi Zulu 14 working days in which to exculpate himself over alleged professional misconduct.

This is in the matter in which the Miles Sampa-led Patriotic Front (PF) wrote a letter of complaint against Zulu to the Association regarding his professional conduct.

In the letter dated December, 19, 2023, by LAZ Administrative Assistant, Sipelile Nyirenda, the Association indicated that it had recieved a complaint against Zulu.

Nyirenda said Zulu should render a written response to the complaint and the Committee reserves the right to hear the complaint whether he responds or not.

“Kindly indicate in your response letter whether the Committee can proceed to hear and determine the matter in your absence as the Committee will be sitting soon and you will receive summons in due course,” she stated.

Nyirenda warned that should Zulu fail to indicate his availability and fail to respond to the letter, the Committee would proceed to determine the matter to avoid delaying complaints.

“Noted that you are encouraged to render a written response to the complaint and the Committee would like to inform you that it reserves the right to hear the complaint whether you respond or not,” she said.
