Nshinka said the individuals were part of a group of foreign nationals arrested in ongoing operations targeting illegal gold mining activities in Mufumbwe District.
He stated that the Tanzanians had violated the terms and conditions of their stay by engaging in unlawful mining activities.
Meanwhile, in the early hours of July, 18, 2025, immigration officers in Kasumbalesa conducted a successful operation near the Kasumbalesa border main gate.
“The operation led to the apprehension of twenty-two (22) Congolese nationals suspected of being in the country illegally,” Nshinka stated.
He said the suspects were currently detained at Kasumbalesa police station pending screening and possible prosecution.
