President Hichilema meets diplomats, seeks continuous collaboration on climate issues, others

Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema has noted significance progress through fruitful interactions with respective countries and organisations that have resulted in mutually beneficial outcomes.

The President said at State House in Lusaka on Thursday when he hosted the diplomatic corps accredited to Zambia on the occasion of the annual greeting.

He noted the challenges in the area of food security, the energy situation within the Southern African region, as well as peace and security issues, which needed urgent attention this year.

“This is why our participation in the recent Dakar summit in Senegal focused on attaining food sovereignty and resilience to improve food security at both the international and regional levels is important ,” he said on his official social media handle .

He thanked Zambia’ cooperating partners for their continued support to the Zambian people in many sectors of the economy.

President Hichilema said it was now time to do more in building capacity and resilience, in response to the adverse impact of climate change.

“We also requested them to invite their citizens to sample the various tourist attractions available in our country,” he said.
