The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 has begun to take shape even before the first ball is kicked, as teams arriving in Morocco turned airport terminals into showcases of colour, culture and national pride.
From traditional attire to bold fashion statements, players did not only portray their footballing skills but also expressed their countries’ heritage, unity and identity, setting the tone for Africa’s biggest football spectacle.
Tanzania’s Taifa Stars were among the teams that stood out on arrival, proudly displaying elements of national culture as they touched down in Morocco, reflecting a growing trend among teams to blend football with cultural expression.
Benin arrived dressed for the big moment, projecting confidence and readiness for the challenge ahead, while Nigeria once again lived up to its reputation for making powerful entrances.
“Nobody does it like Naija,” read one reaction as the Super Eagles landed, with players exuding belief and ambition. Nigeria may have only just touched down, but the Super Eagles’ dreams already appeared to be soaring as they prepared for another continental title push.
Burkina Faso also arrived in high spirits, with the Stallions looking focused and ready for the demands of AFCON 2025, while Senegal’s arrival drew admiration for its distinct style and composure.
Mali’s delegation announced its presence with confidence, signaling readiness both on and off the pitch as the Eagles settled into camp.
As more teams continue to arrive, it has become clear that AFCON 2025 is already delivering a spectacle beyond football.
The arrivals have underlined that the tournament is not just a contest of tactics and talent, but also a celebration of Africa’s diversity, culture and shared passion for the game.
With colours on parade and national identities proudly displayed, the stage is now set for a tournament where pride, purpose and performance will go hand in hand.
The tournament officially kicks off on December 21, 2025, with the opening match hosted by Morocco.
