Zambia recently competed in the Thailand Invitational Tournament and will participate in the 2024 Futsal AFCON.
Futsal, a fast-paced, FIFA-recognized five-a-side indoor soccer game, is played on a hard court with a smaller, low-bounce ball.
The sport emphasizes technical skill, quick thinking, and close control in tight spaces.
It has been credited with developing the abilities of iconic players, including Pelé, in South American youth football.
The name derives from the Spanish and Portuguese words for “hall” (sala) and “football” (fútbol/futebol).
