A 56-year-old businessman from Kitwe died early Sunday during a reported sexual encounter behind an outdoor toilet, according to police.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer, Mwala Yuyi, said in a statement that the victim, identified as Geoffrey Mulenga of Bulangililo Township, collapsed while with his girlfriend after a night of drinking.

Yuyi said Mulenga had been consuming alcohol at a local bar with his girlfriend, named as 26-year-old Sharon Mwila, and friends before hiring a taxi to take her home within the same township.

Upon arrival, the pair reportedly went behind an outside toilet structure where they engaged in sexual encounter.

After the act, Mulenga suddenly collapsed and died, police said. Police, together with scenes of crime officers, visited the scene and found the body lying on the ground facing upwards, with no visible physical injuries,” Yuyi said.

The body has been taken to Kitwe Teaching Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death. Police say an inquiry has been opened.
