Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has been named among the 2026 inductees into the Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in the United States.

Daily Post reported that organisers announced the singer’s inclusion ahead of the induction ceremony scheduled for June 1 in Atlanta’s Historic Westside district.

The honour recognises entertainers and cultural figures who have made significant contributions to Black music, entertainment and culture globally.

Davido was named alongside several prominent figures, including rapper Ludacris, gospel singer Paul Morton and former Atlanta mayor Maynard Jackson.

The recognition places the “Timeless” hitmaker among African artistes previously honoured by the organisation, including legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.

The Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame was established by the Black American Music Association and the Georgia Entertainment Caucus to celebrate individuals who have shaped Black entertainment and influenced global culture.

Inductees receive commemorative plaques installed along the Atlanta walkway in recognition of their contributions to music and entertainment.

Davido’s latest achievement comes as the singer marks 15 years in the music industry.

In a recent post shared on X, formerly Twitter, the artiste reflected on his journey, writing: “God is the best of all planners! 15 years in da game.”

Born in Atlanta, Davido began his professional music career in 2011 and worked on his debut album Omo Baba Olowo, which blended Afrobeats and hip hop influences.

He rose to prominence after releasing Dami Duro, the breakout single from the album released in 2012.

Over the years, the award-winning artiste has released several successful projects, including A Good Time, A Better Time, Timeless and 5ive.

He has also earned multiple international accolades and nominations, including three nominations at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, where “Timeless” was nominated for Best Global Music Album.
