The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has warned that all applications for the ongoing recruitment of health professionals submitted outside the Zambia Postal Services Corporation (ZAMPOST) will be rejected.
The Commission has also clarified that individuals who applied during the 2023 health workers recruitment exercise were required to reapply, a measure intended to create a clean, current and verified database capturing applicants’ qualifications, district preferences and other relevant information.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka on Thursday, CSC Chairperson Dr. Choolwe Beyani said the Commission was implementing President Hakainde Hichilema’s directive to recruit volunteer health workers into the Civil Service.
Beyani stated that the Commission had commenced the necessary processes to facilitate the appointments.
“The presidential directive ss a demonstration of the Government’s commitment to recognising the dedication and sacrifices made by volunteer health professionals who have continued providing essential healthcare services while awaiting formal employment,” he said.
Beyani stressed that applications submitted directly to any institution other than ZAMPOST would not be considered under any circumstances and urged applicants who had not yet submitted their documents to do so before the deadline.
He also announced that a verification exercise would be conducted before the selection process begins to ensure accuracy, completeness and credibility of the recruitment database.
“So far, the Commission has completed collecting application documents from Muchinga, Northern and Luapula provinces, where the President initially issued the directive, with validation of the applications currently underway,” Beyani said.
He added that the same exercise would soon be extended to the remaining provinces where similar directive had been issued, assuring volunteer health workers that the exercise was being handled with urgency, seriousness and diligence.
Beyani said details on appointments, placements and the issuance of appointment letters would only be communicated after the validation process is completed.

He warned members of the public against fraudulent online recruitment platforms claiming to be conducting recruitment on behalf of the Commission.
“The Commission does not operate any online recruitment portal and reiterated that all applications must be submitted exclusively through ZAMPOST adding that all individuals covered by the President’s directive must submit formal applications in their preferred districts,” Beyani restated.
He explained that those beneficiaries formed part of the overall applicant pool but constitute a special category identified for recruitment under the presidential directive.
Beyani said any decisions regarding recruitment numbers beyond the advertised 2,600 positions would only be made after the Commission has verified all applications and assessed the final figures.
He reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to a transparent and orderly recruitment process, reiterating that applicants were required to submit their applications through ZAMPOST within the prescribed period.
