Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, Han Jing, has reaffirmed his country’s continued support for Zambia’s digital transformation journey, highlighting the importance of sustained cooperation in building resilient and future-ready digital infrastructure.
Jing reiterated China’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation with Zambia and expressed readiness to explore mutually beneficial initiatives in technology, digital innovation, skills transfer, and infrastructure development.
The Chinese Ambassador to Zambia said this during the Seminar on China–Zambia Artificial Intelligence Cooperation.
Presentations from Chinese representatives centred on localising AI solutions to fit Zambia’s unique social and economic context, as well as forging partnerships with schools to introduce AI curricula at university level, and ensuring that the next generation of Zambian innovators was equipped with home‑grown, relevant expertise.

At the event, Smart Zambia Institute National Coordinator, Percy Chinyama emphasised that digital inclusion was a powerful equaliser, stressing that every Zambian should have access to the tools, skills, and opportunities needed to thrive in the digital economy.
“The true value of artificial intelligence lies not in the technology itself, but in its power to build local capacity and create equitable opportunities for all citizens,” Chinyama said.
He noted that by equipping citizens with digital capabilities, children from humble backgrounds can compete on equal footing with those who have greater access to resources.
