ZANACO says it expects transactions through its Xpress agency banking network to exceed K100 billion by the end of 2026.

The bank also expects the number of transactions processed through the network to exceed 26 million by year-end.

Acting Chief Executive Officer, Kalengo Simukoko, said the network had processed more than 21 million customer transactions worth over K75 billion between January and September.

“By year-end, we expect the network to exceed 26 million transactions worth more than K100 billion,” Simukoko said.

He was speaking on Tuesday at the launch of the Xpress Champions Loyalty Programme at the bank’s head office in Lusaka.

The programme is aimed at recognising high-performing agents and encouraging further expansion of the Xpress network.

Simukoko said the projected growth reflected increasing customer confidence in agency banking and the growing role of Xpress agents in providing financial services across Zambia.

He said agency banking was increasingly supporting access to financial services, commerce and economic activity in communities across the country.

Chief Digital Banking Officer, Mwila Chibela, said the loyalty programme would reward agents based not only on transaction volumes but also on customer service, professionalism, business growth and compliance with the bank’s standards.

Chibela said agents would earn Champion Points through qualifying activities and compete for various rewards and recognition.

“We wanted to create a programme that rewards agents who consistently do the right things, serve genuine customers and contribute positively to the reputation and growth of the network,” he said.
