Chinese man faces manslaughter charges after dogs maul 13-year-old girl

A Chinese man of Lusaka’s New Kasama area whose dogs mauled a 13-year-old girl has been committed to the High Court for manslaughter.

Shi Yaming, a director at Kingo Farm has been charged with manslaughter for causing the death of Sharon Banda on November 8, 2023.

After explanation of the charge, Magistrate Mwandu Sakala committed the accused to the High Court for trial as the Smaubordinate court has no jurisdiction to hear the case.

According to a police report, the juvenile was mauled by 10 vicious dogs when she went outside her home to answer the call of nature in a nearby lavatory around 05:00 hours.
