The Subordinate Court in Ndola has delivered judgment in the criminal case of theft by servant against Kelvin Muleya, a former truck driver of HGC Transport and logistics Limited.
Muleya was found guilty of the offence of theft by servant and sentenced to two years imprisonment with hard labour.
According to the charge sheet presented before the court, Muleya, 31, of 10 Miles, Lusaka, was charged with theft by servant contrary to sections 278 and 272 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Particulars of offence stated that on May, 22, 2026 at Ndola in the Ndola District of the Copperbelt Province, Muleya, being a servant to HGC Transport and Logistics of Lusaka as a Tanker Driver, did steal US$2,554 which was dispatch money for the movement of the truck.
The judgment was delivered by Hon. Veronica Sikwangala.
Muleya who had been in prison since his arrest on May 29, 2026 appeared before the Subordinate Court of the first class for the Ndola District on June, 3, 2026.
