Kafubu Water and Sanitation Company fittings stolen, 24 hours after installation

Suspected criminals have stolen newly installed water fittings belonging to Kafubu Water and Sanitation Company (KWSC) in Kabushi Constituency of Ndola District on the Copperbelt Province.

Company Manager for Marketing and Public Relations Misheck Moyo said the theft of KWSC infrastructure comes barely 24 hours after the said fittings were installed.

Moyo said KWSC is currently undertaking emergency sewer and improvement water works in Kabushi Changanya area where the government through the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) is spending over K10 million on the said works.

He said the stolen galvanized fittings worth over K6,500 including gate valves, stand taps and stand pipes from seven new connections that were installed on Tuesday.

“KWSC has since reported the said thefts to the Zambia Police Service.

“The utility is urging residents in this part of Ndola to help report all suspected vandals to the nearest police station,” Moyo said.
