Morocco’s foreign minister and top defense official receive in Rabat the Board of Peace High Representative for Gaza

In accordance with the High Instructions of His Majesty the King of Morocco, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita and Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi, in the presence of Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the South Zone, and Lieutenant General, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, received on Wednesday 15 July 2026 M. Nickolay Mladenov, the High Representative for Gaza of the Board of Peace, leading a high-level delegation of officials from the Board as well as the Commander of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza.

This visit, which forms part of Morocco’s efforts to fulfill its commitments as a founding member of the Board of Peace, in accordance with the High Royal Guidelines announced at the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace held in Washington under the chairmanship of His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, featured signing the Agreement on Morocco’s participation in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza, according to a statement from Morocco’s National Defense Administration.

During the meeting, the Moroccan side emphasized that the Kingdom’s participation in the ISF reflects deep commitment to the values of peace, cooperation, and international solidarity and will contribute to the achievement and establishment of peace and security in the Middle East region.

It further highlighted Morocco’s experience in UN-led peacekeeping operations, as well as its ongoing commitment, both regionally and internationally, to peace and stability, emphasizing the Royal initiatives launched by HM the King of Morocco, particularly regional integration projects with security and social progress impact.

For their part, senior officials of the Gaza Peace Council and the ISF Commander warmly welcomed the Kingdom of Morocco’s participation in this peace initiative through its contribution concerning the deployment of high-ranking FAR officers to the ISF Joint Command, officials from the Royal Gendarmerie and the DGSN, as well as the establishment of a field military hospital.

At the close of the meeting, the two parties inked the Agreement on the Participation of the Kingdom of Morocco in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza, the legal framework covering the technical and operational aspects of this participation and reflects the shared commitment to contribute, through concrete humanitarian and security actions, to building a climate of peace and security in the region, the statement concluded.
