The Tonse Pamodzi Alliance in Eastern Province has announced the death of its 2026 Lumezi North parliamentary candidate, Clement Mwale.
Eastern Province Alliance Chairperson, Maxson Nkhoma, said Mwale passed away in the early hours of today, Thursday July, 16, 2026.
“It is with deep sadness that I am here to inform members of the Tonse Pamodzi Alliance in Eastern Province and Zambia large that we have lost one of our most committed and hardworking member Mr. Clement Mwale of Lumezi District,” Nkhoma stated in a statement issued in Lumezi.

He extended the Alliance’s deepest sympathy to the family of the late Mwale and to the people of Lumezi over his untimely passing.
Nkhoma described the deceased as a dedicated public servant who served as Council Chairperson for Lumezi District from 2016 to 2021.
“The people of Lumezi and Eastern Province as a whole have lost a dedicated public servant who served diligently when he was Council Chairperson for Lumezi from 2016 to 2021, his commitment to serving the people will be forever be remembered,” he said.
Nkhoma said the Tonse Pamodzi Alliance would in due course, write to the Returning Officer to formally notify them of the death of its parliamentary candidate for Lumezi North.
