Six-year-old girl dies from motor bike accident in Luangwa District

Zambia Police Assistant Public Relations Officer, Godfrey Chilabi, said the accident occurred on March 16, 2023 around 11:00 hours along Kamoba road.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident happened when the pedestrian was crossing the road and in the process was hit by an oncoming motor bike. She sustained head injuries and died upon arrival at Luangwa District Hospital”. Chilabi said.

He said those involved was Chriswell Tembo aged 20 of unknown house number of Indeco Compound in Luangwa District who was riding an unregistered motor bike who has since been charged with the offence of Causing Death by Dangerous Cycling and is currently detained in police custody awaiting court appearance.

He added that the body of the deceased is deposited in Luangwa District Hospital Mortuary awaiting payment postmortem.
