Egyptian startup support platform GrowthLabs has acquired Startup Gate in a transaction valued at approximately EGP35 million, equivalent to about US$656,000.

The acquisition brings together GrowthLabs’ “Catalyst OS” backend system, widely used by accelerators and incubators, with Startup Gate’s founder-investor networking platform, according to TechInAfrica.

Startup Gate was founded in 2025 by Emmy Tawfik, who will now assume the role of Chief Operating Officer in the merged company following the deal.

The transaction was brokered by advisory firm M-Empire.

According to the companies, the merger is aimed at solving challenges linked to fragmented startup data while improving visibility across the startup ecosystem, from business discovery to investment and funding.

The combined platform is expected to offer entrepreneurs, investors and incubators a more integrated system for tracking startup growth and investment opportunities.

The newly merged entity has also announced plans to expand into five additional markets before the end of 2026 as part of its regional growth strategy.
