A tech Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has found himself at the center of a social media storm after being caught in an embrace with a colleague on the Jumbotron during a Coldplay concert—prompting both to flee in embarrassment and fueling cheating allegations online.

Viral footage captured Astronomer CEO, Andy Byron and his company’s Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, awkwardly pulling away from each other when they appeared on the “kiss cam” at the band’s concert in Boston on Wednesday night.

In the TikTok clip shared by user @instaagrace, Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin can be heard saying, “Oh, look at these two,” as the camera zooms in on Byron and Cabot.

Byron, who had his arms wrapped around Cabot, immediately let go as she covered her face with her hands, while he crouched down in an apparent attempt to hide.

“Oh, what… either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” Martin joked as the pair scurried away from the spotlight.

Byron has served as Chief Executive Office of Astronomer—a New York-based data orchestration platform that supports analytics, AI, and software initiatives—since 2023, according to the company’s LinkedIn page.

The cringeworthy moment quickly went viral on Thursday, with online users joking about the awkward scene and speculating the two were cheating on their partners.

The situation took a more personal turn when Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, changed her last name on Facebook and subsequently deactivated her account.

Later, Byron issued a public apology to his wife, family, and the Astronomer team, acknowledging the incident as a “deeply personal mistake.”

“What was supposed to be a night of music and joy turned into a deeply personal mistake playing out on a very public stage,” he said. “I want to sincerely apologize to my wife, my family, and the team at Astronomer. You deserve better from me as a partner and as a leader.”

Byron added that the incident does not reflect the person he wants to be or how he wishes to represent the company he helped build. He said he would be taking time to reflect and determine his next steps both personally and professionally.

“I also want to express how troubling it is that what should have been a private moment became public without my consent. I respect the artists and the entertainment, but I hope we can all think more deeply about the impact of turning someone’s life into a spectacle,” Byron stated.
