Twist as Father Mukosa now says ‘summon cancelled,’ no longer to appear before police for questioning

Controversial Catholic Priest, Andrew Mukosa, says he will not appear before police in Ndola because the callout has been withdrawn.

The Lufwanyama Catholic Priest said : “I will not appear before Police in Ndola today (Tuesday ) because my earlier summon has been canceled.”

This is according to a video message posted on Radio Icengelo official Facebook page viewed by Zambia Monitor.

Mukosa maintained that his Good Friday message in Church was based on social justice and not on political persuasion.

He said no one had bought him but his comments was driven by his desire to ensure social justice.

“I will remain non-partisan and loyal to the universal Church ,” Mukosa said.

He said he would continue continue preaching social justice as part of his calling.

On Monday lawyers for the Catholic Priest, Makebi Zulu Advocates, insisted that their client would present himself to Copperbelt Province Police Division.

This was after Police Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga, stated that the Command had withdrawn the police call-out while Ministry of Information and Media, Permanent Secretary, Thabo Kawana claimed the call-out was fake.

Mukosa was supposed to appear before Copperbelt Division Police Headquarters in Ndola for interrogation over unspecified issues.
