Veteran Nigerian comedian, Muonagor, is dead. Did you know the following things about him?

Nollywood veteran actor, producer and comedian, Amaechi Muonagor, has died after suffering from kidney-related issues, diabetes and stroke.

In 2023, he had suffered a stroke that led to partial paralysis of his left leg. Muonagor passed away on Sunday on March 24, 2024.

Here are some of the things to know about him;

1. Amaechi Muonagor was born on August 20, 1962

2. He was 61 years old at the time of death

3. He was a Nigerian actor, comedian and producer

4. Born in Obosi, Anambra State, a state in the southeastern part of Nigeria.

5. He was married to Hope Chikodi Muonagor and they had four children.

6. He was nominated for the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for Best actor.

7. Muanogor studied economics at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) where he graduated in 1987.

8. Muonagor began his journalism career with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in 1989 before debuting in Nollywood in the early 90s.

9. He joined the Nigerian movie industry Nollywood in 1998.

Renowned for his acting prowess and comedic roles, Muonagor was considered one of the legendary actors in Nollywood.

His illustrious career spanned decades. He featured in numerous film such as Taboo 1 (1989), Aki and Pawpaw, Karishika (1998), and Aki na Ukwa (2002), Igodo(1999). His last Action (2008), Sincerity (2009) and Without Goodbye (2009).

As tributes flow in, fans and colleagues continue to honour his legacy, emphasising his significant contributions to the film industry and his pivotal role in shaping the Nollywood comedy industry.
