Grammy winner, Tyla’s 14-track self-titled debut album, is reportedly shooting its way to the top of the Official South Africa (SA) Charts following its release on March 22, 2024.

Along with her hit song ‘Water’, which continued to climb the charts and reached number three on the Local Top 100 and number five on the International Top 200 in its 30th week, Tyla’s other tracks were also gaining traction.

‘Art’, which had been praised for its unique “popiano” sound, a blend of South African amapiano beats with pop and R&B tempos, debuted at number six on the local chart and number eleven on the international chart.

Music Africa reported that the ‘Truth or Dare’ song jumped 11 spots on the international chart to number fifteen and eight places locally to No nine last week.

Her infectious song ‘Jump’ single, featuring Jamaican dancehall artist Skillibeng and United States rapper Gunna, has also debuted at number eleven on the local chart and number eighteen on the international chart.

The song, a vibrant blend of Afrobeats, dancehall, and hip hop, was primed to be a party anthem.
Tyla’s music offered an innovative take on pop, R&B amapiano and Afrobeats.

She began showing an interest in music at the age of 12 and started singing more seriously in high school.

She was signed to Epic Records through a joint venture with Johannesburg-New York-based Fax Records, and was co-managed by We Make Music and Africa Creative Agency.
