PF member, Kabwita, warns of rising gang violence in Kitwe, urges police action

Patriotic Front (PF) member, Charles Kabwita has warned that Kitwe was facing a growing security threat from violent gangs operating in the city, reminiscent of the infamous Tokota Boys.

Kabwita said in recent weeks, Kitwe had witnessed alarming attacks that were spreading fear among residents.

“I call on the Zambia Police command in Kitwe to act decisively, intensify patrols, investigate thoroughly, and dismantle these criminal networks before the situation worsens,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.

Kabwita stated that: “Our people deserve to walk the streets and live in their homes without fear.”

He further urged community leaders, parents, churches, and civil society to work with law enforcement in addressing the situation.

“Together, we can reclaim Kitwe and restore peace and dignity for all residents,” Kabwita said.
