Zambia has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing human development and promoting inclusive growth in line with its Foreign Policy objectives anchored on peace, security, stability, and economic diplomacy.

The country has also reiterated its dedication to social development and contributing to global strategies that promote equity, justice, and sustainable progress for all.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Principal Public Relations Officer, Eva Chanda, announced this in a statement issued in Lusaka on Monday.

Chanda said Zambia was participating in the United Nations Second World Summit on Social Development (WSSD2), taking place in Doha, Qatar, from November 4 to 6, 2025.

“The Summit is scheduled to take place from 4th to 6th November 2025, under the theme ‘The Second World Summit for Social Development’,” she said.

Chanda stated that the Zambian delegation to the summit was led by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mulambo Haimbe, accompanied by Minister of Community Development and Social Services Doreen Mwamba and other senior government officials.

She explained that the Summit, convened at the level of Heads of State and Government, would bring together world leaders, international organizations, civil society, and development partners to advance global action on poverty eradication, employment creation, and social inclusion.

“Zambia’s participation in this high-level Summit underscores the country’s commitment to advancing human development and promoting inclusive growth, in line with the Foreign Policy objectives anchored on Peace, Security and Stability, and Economic Diplomacy,” Chanda restated.

She added that Minister Haimbe is expected to deliver Zambia’s National Statement during the plenary session.
