Police in Chililabombwe have arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly killing his elder brother following a longstanding family dispute.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer, Mwala Yuyi, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday, identifying the deceased as Zulu Mumba, 42, who was killed by his younger brother Brian, 40.
Yuyi said the incident occurred in the early hours of January 18, 2026, at the siblings’ home in Kakoso Township.
He explained that the suspect allegedly stabbed his brother multiple times in the head and face around 02:00 hours, leading to his death.

“The victim’s sister, Violet Zulu, reported the incident to police, stating that the brothers had longstanding differences and the suspect had previously threatened to kill the victim,” Yuyi said.
He added that police later apprehended the suspect, who is currently in custody.
